Bridal Open House South Ballrooms

On Wednesday, September 22, 2010 guests were invited to attend a Free Bridal Tasting and Open House hosted by Dragonfly Events & Design, featuring food from New Age Catering. Past clients, potential and booked clients were welcomed into our South Ballrooms to try the foods of New Age Catering as well as talk to some local vendors from the area.

Vendors included the following: Dragonfly Events & Design - Event planning; New Age Catering; Cakes by Happy Eatery; Classic Creations - photography; Hitkickers DJ; floral arrangements and centerpieces by Dever's Design; Perfect Honeymoons; Dharma-Events - decoration, DJ, sound, lighting, photography, videography; Capitol Chocolate Fountains; Kate Hazzard Rogers - Harpist; Isabella Bastien - makeup artist; and equipment by Elegant Decor and DC Rental.

Our entry hallway had a table setup in red and white linens with Kate Hazzard Rogers who was playing beautiful music on her harp.

The grand ballroom was setup with a large square bar in the center of the ballroom which had different colored glasses set up and had a bartender pouring beverages for guests. Around the room were different vendor booths setup displaying their services. Hitkickers DJ played music while Dharma-Events had several uplights and spotlights in different colors as well as lights illuminating on the ceiling. New Age Catering provided samplings of some spanish chicken, couscous, mango salmon, spinach tortillini, and a tray of fruits and cheeses, as well as some passed hor d'oeurves.

Capitol Chocolate Fountains featured a milk chocolate fountain with some dippings including pineapple, marshmallows, cake balls, strawberries and a crowd pleaser - cream puffs.

A special thank you to Cakes by Happy Eatery who provided two cakes (one chocolate with ganache icing) and another (vanilla cake with strawberry mousse and whipped cream). They were unable to make it to the event because they were working at a cancer benefit but we appreciate their time and effort in making the cakes and bringing two beautiful display cakes as well.

Tables were setup in different colored linens with different colored chivari chairs and cushions while Devers Design had different centerpieces on each table.

Gretchen Wade with Dragonfly Events & Design was there to offer her expertise advice on wedding planning and design.
