On Friday, September 10, 2010, around 200 guests gathered in our North Ballrooms to celebrate a wedding reception. Guests were welcomed into the entry hallway for cocktail hour. Tables and chairs were setup for guests to sit at which were decorated with small frames with photos of the couple and red votive candles. A round table in the center of the room was decorated in black linen with roses surrounding and a cheese and cracker platter. A bar was setup in the entry so guests could enjoy beverages. A gift table, placecard table with placecards hanging from a board were on another table along with a guest book which was photos of the couple for guests to sign.
After cocktail hour guests entered the grand ballroom to find tables decorated in black linen with black napkins. Centerpieces were three different sized cylinder vases filled with water, a single red rose inside and topped with a white floating candle. Red rose petals and red votive candles surrounded the base of the candle holders. Every table had a framed photo of different famous couples. One table was the Obamas, another was Kelly and Zac from Saved by the Bell, along with many others. A votive candle favor that said 'Love' was placed at every seat.
The bride, groom and bridal party were seated at a large, long head table which was setup on a large, raised stage provided by Elegant Decor. Red rose petals decorated the head table. To the right of the head table was the cake table. The cake was a black cake decorated with red accents. The center of the cake seperating the two tiers was a red fondant decoration of the word "LOVE" which behind it had a wheel of photos of the couple. The cake was provided by Sweet Creations Cakes.
The fireplace mantel was decorated with red votive candles and photos of the bride and groom.
The small ballroom had a buffet setup which was covered in black linen. A second bar was setup facing inside the grand ballroom. Guests enjoyed chicken, tortellini noodles, rolls, mashed potatoes, mixed vegetables and a caesar salad. The food was provided by Matters of Taste Catering who did an excellent job.
Each member of the bridal party was introduced into the ballroom and once all in, did a special dance on the dance floor with the groom. Then the lights went out and just the single chandlier in the grand ballroom lit up and the bride entered the room.
The rest of the evening everyone danced the night away. The bride and groom exited to guests lighting sparklers to wish them their goodbyes. We hope the couple has a long and happy life together!
