September 18, 2010 North Ballrooms

On Saturday September 18th we held a wedding reception in our North ballrooms for 200 guests. The event began with a cocktail hour in the entry hall where the room was filled with cabaret tables dressed with green linens and included vases with water and votives and also a specialty drink menu. The room also included a memorial table with photos of loved ones and also a large photo scrapbook for guests to sign. After the cocktail hour the guests proceeded into the grand ballroom for the reception. The tables were decorated in white linens with centerpieces that included all white lilies, roses, and orchids which filled the room with a pleasant floral aroma. The bride and groom were seated at a sweet heart table with a sheer white backdrop that was highlighted by red up lighting. The bride and groom danced to " I Do It For You" by Bryan Adams as their first dance. Afterwards the guests enjoyed a plated meal which included a mesculin salad mix with a raspberry vinaigrette, a petite fillet or Maryland crab cakes or a vegetarian lasagna, which was served with garlic basil whipped potatoes, and steamed medley of seasonal vegetables. For dessert the guests dined on Italian and red velvet wedding cake. The bride surprised her groom with a grooms cake that was shaped like a golf ball.
The rest of the evening went off without a hitch and ended beautifully with the guests giving their best wishes to the bride and groom.

The specialty drink menu included
"Something Old"- Gin and tonic
"Something New"- Benka on the rocks
"Something Borrowed"- Cosmo from SATC
" Something Red"- Champagne with a twist

The bride and groom gave personalized candles as guest favors.
