August 28, 2010 Foxchase Manor North Ballrooms

On Saturday August 28th we hosted a wedding reception in our north ballroom for over 400 guests. The guests arrived around 6pm and were welcomed into the entry hall for a cocktail hour where they were served passed hors d'ouevers like stuffed mushrooms and assorted cheeses. After the cocktail hour the guests took their seats for the reception in the grand and small ballrooms. The guest tables were decorated with beautiful gold and orange overlays that glistened under the chandeliers. They also included gold square chargers with gold satin napkins and the centerpieces tied the colors of the linens and place settings together. The floral arrangements were stunning with white hydranga, orange roses, tiger lillies, and bells of Ireland, and they ranged from tall to short arrangements. The guest tables were completed with several bottles of traditional Ethiopian honey wine and personalized wedding favors at each table. Soon after the guests were seated, the bride and groom arrived and were greated by their family and friends. The happy couple danced their first dance to "It Had to Be You" by Frank Sinatra before the wedding party took their place at the head table.

The dinner buffet was in the small ballroom and featured traditional Ethiopian cuisine. The star of the buffet however was a carving station which had an entire leg of beef. After dinner the guests enjoyed dancing and celebrating the happy union. A beautiful five tiered cake (thanks to Flavor Cake & Pastry) with buttercream frosting and adorned with fresh flowers was next to the head table and stage.

Some of the vendors for the event were Fasska Restaurant who provided the food, Elegant Decor provided the stage and additional equipment, Pupa Flowers decorated the rooms and the tables.

Guests had a wonderful evening. We wish the couple a happy life together!
