On Friday, August 6, 2010, about 100 guests gathered into our North Ballrooms for a wedding ceremony and reception. Guests were welcomed into the entry hallway where they mingled and were provided water bottles with a wrap around the bottle with the couples names. When it was time for the ceremony guests were ushered outside to the outdoor patio where the ceremony was to take place.
The bridal and groom were married under a lovely branch alter which they made and was decorated with white chiffon and green moss. Guests were seated in gold chivari chairs with programs hanging off each chair. The programs when fanned out, made a fan for guests in the hot summer day. A few of the seats on the end of the aisle chairs had cones filled with rose petals to be thrown at the ceremony. Bridesmaids were in light green dresses and the bride was wearing a beautiful ivory and champagne colored gown.
After the ceremony guests were ushered back into the entry hallway for cocktails. Guests enjoyed miniature sandwiches, cheese, crackers and fruit and beverages from the bar. The entry hallway had a table with a handmade guestbook of pictures of the bride and groom which guests could sign. There was also photos of the bride and groom along with a framed photo of the couple which guests could sign. A poster with a seating chart was also in the entry hall placed on an easle so guests could find their seats. A gift table and card box were another table in the entry hallway, all decorated in white linens.
After cocktail hour guests moved into the grand ballroom for dinner. The bride and groom sat at a sweetheart table with brown underlay and cream overlay and the bridal party sat on each side of the sweetheart table at a long table decorated in brown linen. The head tables were decorated with brown bows and hits of little yellow and rust colored flowers. The remaining guest tables were decorated in brown linen with mirror centerpieces and a tall vase filled with rocks and greenery and twig branches coming out from the top. Hanging on the twigs were little phrases like 'love' and 'hope' hanging from the branches.
The rest of the room was decorated with little accents like photos of the couple and inspirational words on the fireplace mantal. Each guest had a favor to take home at their seat. It was a light yellow hand towel with a cherry accent on top in a cute little box. Place cards were placed at each table sitting in a creative cork stopper. The dance floor was in the center of the room in a diamond shape.
Guests enjoyed a buffet filled with meatballs, a variety of pastas and salads. During the reception one of the bridesmaids sang 'God Bless the Broken Road'. The rest of the evening was spent dancing the night away. At the end of the reception the bride and groom were escorted out by little bubbles.
Thanks to C & G Catering who provided the linen and china rental as well as the staffing! We wish the bride and groom a lifetime of happiness!
